oh great, now they'll spend millions on electric boilers that'll break in a week. classic.
Good riddance. My dad worked at the Greymouth boiler for 30 years but even he said it was a dinosaur. Time to move on aye.
So proud of NZ! But what about the poor coal workers?? Nobody thinks about them just virtue signalling 😡
my husband works maintenance at Grey Base, they've been setting up heat pumps for ages. it's legit.
meanwhile the waitemata emergency dept is still running on a generator from 1992 but sure pat yourselves on the back
don't worry, they'll just import more renewable credits from australia and call it a day

i'll believe it when i see my power bill go down. bet it won't.
haha got nothing to do with bills mate. this is about pollution not savings
yeah nah you're right, but still a step forward i reckon
ffs another feel good story while the actual state of our health system is in the toilet
genuinely curious - what's replacing it? heat pumps? hope they accounted for west coast power outages lol
lol they got heat pumps? watch em break first winter storm
Can't wait for the day we don't need any coal. Don't let the 'she'll be right' crowd hold us back 🚀
