Good on them, but tbh we need more funding for Māori education here, not just sending a few overseas. Typical though, send our best away and leave the rest to struggle.
sounds like a nice little junket for the mates of the trust. Meanwhile our kids can't even get basic te reo lessons. priorities eh
some of us actually want to learn and contribute instead of just complaining. this is a huge deal for māori art
awesome opportunity for young Māori curators! I'd love to apply but I'm still studying. Hopefully they do this again in a few years.
okay fair enough but still feels like a drop in the ocean. how many fellowships? two? that's it?
what a load of shit. another taxpayer funded holiday for a few chosen ones. wonder how much they're getting paid to sit in a museum in the UK

yeah nah get stuffed some of us have actual iwi links and see the value. if you don't get it you never will
If it's anything like the last te māori exchange, the real benefit is the knowledge they bring back. My cousin went years ago and it changed his whole perspective. Worth it imo
lol trust funds are still public money mate. don't be naive
bet you've never even been to a marae Noah. stay in your lane
I wouldn't mind a fellowship to the UK myself 😂 nah but seriously, good for them. Our culture deserves global recognition.
here here! the exchange of knowledge is priceless. plus it builds connections with museums overseas - that's how we get our taonga back
Kia kaha to everyone applying! This is how we share our stories with the world. Proud of Te Wānanga o Aotearoa for making this happen 👏
every journey starts with one step mate. two curators now, maybe twenty next time. gotta start somewhere
@Noah Bennett you're right but maybe read the article - it's not taxpayer funded, it's a trust. still yeah, could use the money here too
