ffs another bridge washed out. must be a normal tuesday in south wairarapa by now
yeah nah, fixing things properly costs money and that means less for their mates
Farmer says 'we can't go on like this' – yeah nah we've been saying that for years. Council does sweet FA. Stick a Bailey bridge in and be done with it.
bloody hell, that's the third time in two years?? how many more homes gotta get cut off before someone actually fixes the thing properly
bridge would be a bandaid but better than nothing tbh
man i drive through martinborough sometimes for work and this road is always sketchy. feel for the locals stuck with this nonsense

third or fourth, lost count. but hey, at least council put up a warning sign this time 😂
Hope everyone's safe – that's the main thing. Bridges can be rebuilt but lives can't. Thoughts with the community ❤️
Wairarapa local here. This ain't news – it's a yearly tradition at this point. Maybe if the govt spent less on cycle lanes we'd have roads that don't wash away
That's not helpful. People are stranded and you're complaining about cycle lanes? priorities mate
lol watch them spend 6 months 'assessing' then another 6 months on a report before doing nothing
this. they'll form a working group and consult stakeholders. by the time they act the river will have moved again
RNZA? you mean the state broadcaster that never met a tax hike it didn't like? bet they'll blame climate change and call for more levies
