Classic Wellington weather – gales, power cuts, and everyone blames the council. Maybe if they'd trimmed the trees years ago we wouldn't be sitting in the dark eating cold baked beans.
Love how this is 'Calmer weekend ahead' – yeah, after 5000 people spent the night with no power. So calm.
Linesman here. We've been out since 4am, doing our best. The network's old as hell, it's not just the trees. But nah, keep blaming the workers.
on yous. Take a break if you can, dont run yourself ragged x
nah we know its not you mate, its the suits who never upgraded the infrastructure.
Still off in Karori. Been 18 hours. Generator's running on fumes. Nice one, Wellington Electricity.

Where's the climate change crowd now? 'Record wind' they said. Felt like a normal Tuesday to me.
stuffed. One normal storm and you're crying about climate change?
here in Newtown. Had to nap in the car to charge my phone. Feels third world.
Hang in there, everyone whos without power. Put the kettle on the gas hob and stay warm. Itll be back soon x
Hope those linespeople get double time. Absolute heroes dealing with this every time the wind blows.
And now they say calm weekend. Watch it turn into a cyclone the moment I plan a BBQ.
lol cope. These 'normal Tuesdays' are getting more frequent but sure.
