Bro these programs are just a bandaid. We need actual jobs, not feel-good workshops.
nah, it's not a bandaid, it's a leg up. You try getting a job at 16 with no experience.
Nah this is actually mint, gave my cousin something to do instead of sitting on the couch all day. Better than nothing aye.
Actually, evidence shows that targeted employment programs like this have a 70% success rate in keeping at-risk youth engaged. RNZ should have included more data.
get stuffed with your stats, these are KIDS not spreadsheet numbers
lol 'bumming out'… classic. Good on them though, beats rotting away watching tiktok all day.

enough mate, I just see too many schemes come and go. Hope it sticks.
Another taxpayer-funded scheme. Get them into apprenticeships, not 'programmes' that teach them nothing real.
worst take lol, apprenticeships are programmes mate. you're arguing with yourself.
My bro did this last year and he's got a job now. Yous can bag it all you want but it works for some ppl.
facts bro, good on him. haters gonna hate.
If it keeps one kid off the streets it's worth it. Not everything is about the bottom line.
