Calling for a 'stronger voice' when your industry has been whining since lockdowns ended? Please. You lot couldn't organise a piss-up in a brewery, let alone influence an election. Pathetic.
Honestly, hospitality has been through the wringer. If the govt actually listened to small biz owners instead of big corporates, we wouldn't be in this mess. Yeah, nah, fat chance though.
Work in hospo. It's bloody chaos right now. Owners can't get staff cos no one wants to work for peanuts, and customers are cranky cos prices are up. Yeah sure, 'stronger voice' would help but actions speak louder.
stop-start recovery? more like stop-start survival. seen three cafes shut on my street in the last year. they can talk all they want but election promises are hot air.
Why should taxpayers prop up restaurants? It's a cutthroat industry. If you can't make it work, maybe it's the market telling you something. Sorry, but that's just how it is.
