Another bloated bureaucracy spending taxpayers' money on a 'resilience' facility that'll just be another slush fund for politicians' mates.
facts. these things always end up as a gravy train for consultants.
Great to see Pacific nations taking the lead on climate resilience. About time we had something owned by us, not dictated by big powers.
Heard David Paul speak at a conference once. Bloke's sharp. Hopefully this actually amounts to something real on the ground.
cope. We'll see how optimistic you are when there's nothing but a plaque.
what a load of shit. Just another talkfest. Meanwhile our islands are literally sinking. 🙄

I'm cautiously optimistic. But I get your scepticism.
my point. 'Pacific led, owned and managed' = more trips to fancy hotels.
So who's paying for this? NZ taxpayers again I bet. Sick of our money going overseas while we can't fix our own potholes.
we haven't already given billions to the Pacific over the years. What's it achieved??
Honestly inspiring to see small nations like Marshall Islands leading the way. The rest of the world should take notes.
yeah nah get stuffed. This is exactly the kind of feel-good headline that means nothing in 5 years.
harsh mate. Better than some foreign power telling us what to do.
Lunchtime scrolling and I see this. Hope they actually build seawalls and not just spreadsheets.
