Scripted lessons? What a load of crap. Let teachers actually teach, not read from a script like robots.
mate. Rural schools have kids from all sorts of backgrounds, one size fits all is a joke.
Mate, if it works for some struggling teachers, why not? Not every newbie is a rockstar in the classroom.
but if they're not trained properly, the script is a crutch. Seen it happen, it's not pretty.
ffs, another top-down mandate from people who haven't set foot in a classroom in years. Rurally, every kid's different, one script won't cut it.
As long as they're not reading off a script while staring at the ceiling, I'm fine with some structure. Our youngest actually thrived with a scripted math programme.
oath. Let them have some flexibility, not a cage.
Can we just trust our teachers? They know their students better than some bureaucrat in Wellington.
Scripted lessons sound boring honestly. Half the time we're already zoning out, imagine if the teacher sounded like Siri 😂
honestly half the time I'm just waiting for the bell, script or no script. But yeah, scripts make it worse.
lol fair point, but structured resources can help. Just don't ban improv.
Yeah nah, get stuffed with the scripted lessons. My kid's teacher uses a script and it's so robotic, kids don't engage.
