Yay finally some action in the Bay! Love seeing iwi-led housing 🙌
Eight houses? That's barely a dent. We need hundreds, not a handful.
than the nothing the govt has done lol
It's a pilot. Build more cheap houses and we'll see real change. This is positive
Meanwhile my whānau has been on the waiting list for 3 years. Ffs
How much did this cost per house? Bet it's double what a normal house would cost cos of 'cultural' add-ons
we're spending this much on 8 houses, I'd like to see the full breakdown. Transparency matters

it's iwi land, they're not for sale. Stop trying to divide people
Worked on a few kāinga Ora projects. These whare are actually good quality. Better than the leaky crap developers churn out.
that's the hope and the dream. We'll see how long 'til they need repairs
This is what community-led solutions look like. The govt should fund more of this instead of giving to big developers
I'm not against it, just saying show us the numbers. NZ loves a good contractor markup
Good on them honestly. Anything is better than nothing at this point. At least it's happening
always cost more. We can walk and chew gum at the same time - no excuses
