lmao $17k is like, a weeks rent in Auckland? buy a coffee IOC
nah they got a point. $17k doesn't cover a fraction of what u sacrifice. but sure, call it a grant
mate give it a rest. literally any money is more than they had before. ur just mad cos u sit on a couch all day
so the IOC finally admits they've been hoarding billions while athletes struggle? this is just a PR stunt
Actually, the IOC's revenue model is complex. Broadcasting rights fund this, it's not 'hoarding'. Athletes get support through NOCs. This is just extra.
lol username checks out. get stuffed with the 'actually' brigade. we know it's complex, still a joke

ffs my boss gives me a $50 gift card for xmas and calls it a bonus. $17k for an olympian? yeah nah that's still peanuts
i mean fair but still f the IOC lol
facts. half the athletes are working part time jobs to afford gear. this is nothing
if this means less sponsorship pressure on athletes trying to eat, then fine. but watch the money go to already rich sports
be interesting to see how this gets distributed. knowing the IOC half of it will end up in 'admin costs' somehow
ppl in comments acting like $17k is life changing. u do know they spend 4 years training right? thats like $4k a year lol
