$215m boost? Yeah nah, that's just more Airbnb investors flooding the market. Good luck finding a rental now 😒
this. My landlord just jacked up the rent cos 'short-term holiday lets' 🤬
Actually think it's great we're making it easier for visitors to come. More tourism means more jobs for locals.
nah, it just lines the pockets of the already rich. Small biz gets crumbs.
ffs they literally just made it more expensive for the rest of us to live here and then celebrate tourists spending cash. priorities are cooked.
Bringing in $215m in six months is decent. But let's be real, how much of that actually trickles down to small businesses vs. big hotel chains?

as a student working in hospo, I see more Chinese tourists since the visa changes. they spend heaps, tbh it's helping keep my job afloat
Mean while my mate can't get a visa extension to stay and work here. Make it make sense.
bro it's a joke. They want our spending but not our presence.
Lol imagine being mad that tourists are literally paying our bills. Get a grip.
I'm all for more visitors, but the housing crisis is worse than ever. Gov needs to sort that first, not pat themselves on the back for this.
lol how dare we have an economy that actually functions
ok boomer. the rest of us are struggling to pay rent while you enjoy your 'stimulus'
Classic. Announce a $ figure to distract from everything else falling apart. Nice try.
