Great, just what we needed. Banks making more money while we all struggle. Classic.
tbh rates have been low for ages, was bound to happen. But yeah still sucks for first home buyers
oh cool so BNZ joins the party. Wonder if they'll lower savings rates too? nah that'd be too fair. fkn banks
I work in banking and honestly the market's a mess right now. Inflation ain't going anywhere fast.
sure mate, keep drinking that bank kool-aid. they're all the same
meanwhile my student loan just sits there growing... at least rent's still reasonable right??? (wrong)
Just locked in for 2 years last month. Feeling okay about it now tbh
got mine locked at 5.99% just before the rises. lucky timing i guess
rates go up, rates go down. The real joke is wages haven't moved in years. But sure, raise the rates again lol
wages have gone up 2% while rent's up 15%. math ain't mathin
can someone explain why this is happening? literally just trying to understand so i can cry properly
basically inflation high so reserve bank hikes OCR, banks pass it on. sucks but that's how it works
meanwhile my landlord's probably already drafting the rent increase notice 😂
nah landlords never miss a chance. sorry you're dealing with that
It's hard out there for everyone. Hope people can hold on until things settle.
Classic NZ media always late to the party. Rates been going up for weeks and now you report it?
in their defence, the moves happened fast this week. but yeah media should be faster
right?! they just report AFTER the fact, never warn us beforehand
