it's literally your own money. How's that a tax?
12% is a big ask for most people struggling with rent and food prices. But I guess the retirement village lobbyists are happy.
Facts. Landlords will love this, more rent money gone to savings.
I've been in KiwiSaver since day one. 12% is steep but honestly we need to stop pretending $20k at 65 is enough. Seen too many oldies eating cat food.
Imagine being forced to save 12% when you can barely afford petrol for the commute. Classic National out of touch as usual.
