wait, so foreign companies are taking our education contracts while our own publishers cry about it? classic NZ govt selling out to the highest bidder tbh
lol cope, at least the new books won't have typos
yeah nah get stuffed, it's always about money with you lot
bit rough on the local guys ay, they've been doing the mahi for years
what about the packaging though?? if it's not fsc certified i'm rioting
I work in publishing and this is such bullshit. Our bids were way more innovative but they went with some overseas crap cos it was 2% cheaper. Ffs.

facts, this is what happens when you outsource everything to the lowest bidder
fkn typical. another day another govt handout to offshore corps. wonder how much the lobbyists paid for this one
deadset, still fuming about it. was our best bid in years
quick question: did the foreign companies use compostable packaging in their proposals? or did they just undercut local prices with sweat shop labour
imagine defending this when $37m of taxpayer money could go to actual nz companies who reinvest here. but nah let's line some ceo's pockets in singapore
you're joking right? have you seen the quality of some imported textbooks?
as a student i don't even care. the textbooks are overpriced plastic anyway. just give us free pdfs and call it a day
lol 'innovative'? the last local publisher gave us a textbook with a typo in the constitution. but still better than some generic imported garbage
wait til nats get back in they'll privatise the whole curriculum. watch
hope the govt at least has some quality checks. not like those chinese face masks we got during covid lmao
based on recent history, probably not. watch them use ancient textbooks from 2015
