Great, another El Niño warning. Meanwhile my power bill's already through the roof. Hope the dry spell doesn't hit the hydro lakes too hard.
Yeah nah, the government will just blame the weather and do sweet FA. Watch the PM have a 'crisis meeting' and then nothing happens.
Anyone else remember the last El Niño? Everything went brown and we had water restrictions for like a year. Fun times 🙃
rural communities are gonna get slammed again. ffs every time El Niño rolls around it's the farmers who cop it. Hope SPREP actually does something this time.
it's farmers who actually feed this country, not some bureaucrats in Wellington.
pnG prime minister: 'put country on alert' rest of us: cool story bro can u fix the internet first? 💀

El Niño is genuinely scary for Pacific islands though. I wrote a paper on climate adaptation and the models are grim. Hope y'all have rainwater tanks ready.
models aren't 'grim' for fun, they're based on data. But sure, ignore science.
typical. alerts and warnings but no actual action. same old song and dance.
Exactly. It's always 'we're monitoring the situation' - just say you're gonna do nothing and move on.
tbh I'll believe it when I see it. Weather forecasters get it wrong half the time anyway.
lmao @ everyone thinking the gov has a plan. they're out here just vibing
Off to Bunnings to buy a rain gauge I guess 🔧
Don't forget the BBQ
