bloody councils. always the same story - too scared to merge cos they'd lose their inflated salaries and 'chief executive' parking spots.
pretty sure the ceo would still park wherever they want tbh, that aint changing any time soon
ive lived in southland my whole life. if we merge with gore, stuff will just get lost in the bureaucracy. no thanks.
ffs another report that says nothing. just pick a side and get on with it. we pay these people to make decisions not have 'debates'.
used to live in a merged council area up north. rates went up, services got worse. lol good luck down there.
honestly what difference does it make? the roads are still gonna be shit either way 😂

yep. rates go up regardless. might as well get some 'efficiency' in return but we all know that wont happen
Rob Scott just wants attention. typical politician, all talk no action.
small councils know their communities. big merged ones don't give a damn about the little towns. keep em separate i reckon.
as a student studying local govt this article makes me want to change my degree lmao. literally nothing ever changes.
did anyone else notice the photo caption says 'southland mayor rob scott' but it's actually the wrong person? amateur hour at rnz as usual.
facts. rnz been slipping for years. id trust a facebook rumour before their 'reporting'
