ffs, another report telling us what we already knew. Te Kura was never designed for at-risk kids, it's a dumping ground for the system. My grandson was sent there and it was a joke. No support, no oversight. Bloody disgrace.
nah, you're right. My niece was there and she just ended up on TikTok all day. No teaching happening.
Te Kura's a scam, they just want the funding. At-risk kids need actual teachers in a room, not a screen. 😡
stuffed mate, the teachers there are doing the best they can with no resources. Blame the government, not the school.
Online learning works for some, but not for the vulnerable ones. But what do you expect when the govt cuts funding and expects Te Kura to pick up the slack? It's a mess.
I think that's a bit harsh. Some kids thrive online, but we need to separate the ones who need face-to-face support.

I had a positive experience with Te Kura years ago for my daughter. But the system has changed, and now it feels like they're pushing all the hard cases there. Not fair on the kids.
true. The whole system is a mess. Kids are just numbers now.
Worked in education for 20 years. This is just the latest in a long line of failures. The answer is smaller class sizes and proper funding, not shipping kids off to an online school.
We used to have proper correspondence schools with human connection. Now it's all a bloody algorithm.
my point. They need to be funded properly or stopped altogether. No middle ground.
You're missing the point. At-risk kids are the ones who need the most support, and they're getting the least. It's a joke.
ffs, it's not either/or. We need more funding for both options, not this pathetic bickering.
So what's the solution then? Put them back in mainstream schools where they get bullied? Nah, both options are shit.
