Another big media company losing money, what a shock. Maybe if they stopped airing endless reality trash and actually tried journalism… nah, who am I kidding.
Sky bought TV3 and now it's losing millions. Who didn't see this coming? They'll probably just axe Newshub next and replace it with more fishing shows. The state of NZ media is a bloody disgrace.
$4.8m loss? That's cute, watch it double next year after they can the only decent shows.
Reality TV is cheap to produce but nobody watches it anymore. Maybe if they put some actual effort into local drama instead of buying old UK formats…
I work in the industry. The real problem is that the ad market is gutted and everyone's streaming. Sky is trying to squeeze blood from a stone.

Exactly. The Block is the only thing keeping them afloat and even that's getting tired.
Cost cuts coming? Great, so they'll fire more local production staff and outsource to Australia. Kiwi content is dead.
