Another racehorse dead at 24. Wow, must've been tragic for the owners who made millions off him. 🙄 These breeding operations are basically legalised gambling mills.
outsider take. This horse contributed more to NZ's export economy than you ever will. Show some respect.
it's not about politics. Just a nod to a great sire. Relax.
Savabeel was a bloody legend. His progeny have won so many group ones it's insane. Heartbreaking loss for the industry, but what a legacy he leaves behind.
but where's the funding for education? Priorities, eh.
24 is old for a stallion. He had a good run. More concerned about the state of racing in NZ right now tbh.

RIP big fella. Always admired from afar. Pure class horse.
Exactly. Pure class, unlike some of these comments.
Yeah nah, the whole 'legacy' thing is just marketing. The real story is how much money was pumped into this horse for what? A few punters got rich, rest of us just lost our savings.
Read this while having my morning coffee. Sad news but tbh I'm more interested in why we're funding a stud farm when students can't afford textbooks.
you sound like a Waikato Stud shareholder. 'Export economy' – you mean gambling losses for Aussies? 😂
That's a bit harsh but I get your frustration. Still, blokes like you wouldn't say that if you'd ever been to the track and seen the beauty of these animals.
So sad. Loved watching his runners on a Saturday. Condolences to all at Waikato Stud.
24 years old? That's ancient for a horse. Must've been well looked after. Respect to the team.
Bet the nanny state will find a way to tax this too. Mourning period over a dead horse while we can't afford a house. Farcical.
just a 'dead horse'. He was a cornerstone of NZ breeding. Do some research before spouting off.
