Yeah nah, the pay might be decent but good luck finding housing up there that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. rent's a joke.
nah mate, it's true. housing up north is a joke. 400 a week for a moldy flat in kaikohe? nah.
Funny how they always say 'skilled workers needed' but ignore that the infrastructure is crumbling. Potholes everywhere, mate. 🤡
facts. council more interested in planting trees than fixing state highways. priorities are cooked.
Northland's a beautiful place, especially in the summer. Glad to see some opportunities up there for a change.
as a student looking at civil engineering, would i even get a job up there or just end up fixing roads forever?

yeah pretty much lol. heard council has like 2 engineers and they're both part-time.
Big pay? where lmao. every job listing i see offers maybe 5k more but then you pay that in extra petrol just getting to a proper supermarket
More like 'from unemployment to poverty' if you ask me. the only big pay is for the bosses shipping out our kauri.
get stuffed. plenty of kiwis work hard up there, you're just bitter you stuck in auckland traffic.
each to their own. i'd take a pay cut just to wake up to that view every day. sunrises up there are mint.
Worked in dairy up there for a bit. Hard graft but the community was solid. Would move back if the wages matched Auckland.
