Yeah nah, my parents bought a house in the 80s on one income, now you need two jobs just to pay rent. 24% rates but houses were $50k, not $1m.
Facts. My parents' first home was $37k in 1985. I can't even buy a car for that now.
24% mortgage rates? And house prices were 3x the average wage. Now it's 10x. Simple math, folks. Next.

My dad had a 22% mortgage in 1987 and still managed to pay it off in 15 years. Different world back then.
