bloody risky fishing alone off those west coast rocks, hope they find him safe
bet he didn't have a lifejacket on either… another one
tides around Taharoa are no joke, seen plenty of near misses out there. hope the rescue crew get to him in time
correct, couple of guys died out there last year. hope this one has a better ending
so why didn't anyone notice he was gone till 7pm? family only just check in then? ffs
typical, judging the family? if he was due back earlier they'd have raised alarm sooner

mate you don't know the full story, have some respect
lol cope more, article literally says reported at 7pm, you think they sat on it?
prayers up for the whānau, must be awful waiting
classic media, report someone missing but zero info on conditions or what boat he was in. useless as always
oh no, that's so scary. hope the search teams find him okay
we need mandatory locator beacons for all fishers, this happens way too often
oh please, locator beacons cost a fortune and people still wouldn't use them
yeah nah you're right, definitely needed
stay strong whānau, hoping for good news soon
