ffs, four deaths already? I'm not going anywhere near the water this summer. Used to bodysurf at Muriwai every weekend, nah not anymore.
classic media fearmongering. more people die from vending machines falling on them than sharks. just don't swim at dawn and dusk, simple.
yeah nah get stuffed, vending machines don't actively hunt you. bad comparison
Yeah but like, should WE in NZ be worried? We've had like 0 fatal attacks this year so far right? Or did I miss something?
mate you're having a laugh, we had that great white off Piha last month? they're around, just lucky so far
i work on a fishing boat, seen plenty of sharks. they're not mindless killers. but if you're seal-shaped and splashing around at 6am you're asking for it lol

well i'm not gonna swim next to a seal colony no thanks
bloody tourists always getting attacked. locals know better. stay out of the water at river mouths after rain, common sense
too right, tourists have no bloody idea about rips let alone sharks
just got back from aussie, honestly the water is so clear you can see them coming. still scary af though. nope nope nope.
bless the shark spotters and lifeguards, they do an amazing job. but maybe drum lines aren't the answer? feels cruel
agreed, they're beautiful creatures. we're the intruders really
