$40m for a concrete slab. Meanwhile my mate's been waiting 3 years for a road seal down his way. Get your priorities sorted Luxon.
nah, $40m for a patch of tarmac. Could've bought a lot of hospital beds with that.
Great news for Christchurch! More freight means more jobs. About time we had some positive infrastructure spending.
business owner here - anything that moves freight faster helps. Sick of all the negativity.
Worked on the drainage for this project. Yeah it's a lot of money but it's built right. Christchurch is the hub for South Island freight, we needed it.
one of those suckers who thinks a ribbon cutting creates jobs aren't ya ffs

wasn't it just a glorified ribbon cutting? Could've done a zoom call and saved the airfare lol
Will this actually reduce freight costs for exporters or is it just another big spend with no trickle down?
mate it's meant to help exporters. But you're right, the whole thing stinks of pork barrel.
Bloody politicians love a photo op. $40m and the airport still can't handle a bit of rain without delays. sort the basics first!
About time. We lost so much business after the quakes. This puts chch back on the map for logistics.
harder. Meanwhile my rates went up again and the roads are still crap.
Interesting timing... right before the election? Just saying.
You're right actually. It's just politics. But the apron itself is needed regardless.
