read this while having my morning coffee and now I just feel bloody miserable. imagine dedicating your whole life to caring for someone and losing yourself in the process. that's so rough.
yeah nah this is heartbreaking but also why is there no support? surely the system should step in before someone reaches 'I don't have a life' stage
ffs another sob story about how hard it is to be a caregiver. try doing it for your kid with severe autism and no respite for 10 years, then come talk to me
honestly some people just don't get how relentless it is unless you've lived it
lol typical media guilt-tripping everyone into feeling bad. what about the people who choose this life? it's not all doom and gloom
yeah it's not a choice for most, it's just what you do cos there's no alternative

my mum cared for my dad with dementia for 8 years. she aged like 20 years in that time. this research is so needed, but we already know the toll it takes :/
maybe if the government actually funded proper home care instead of nice office chairs for MPs we wouldn't have these stories

the physical toll is real. my back is wrecked from lifting my wife. no one talks about that.
