saw one of these 'monks' on queen st last week. gave him $2 just to piss off. scam or not still annoying as hell
same. i just say 'no thanks' and keep walking. they can't force you to take the bracelet
fucking hell these grifters are everywhere now. saw one near the viaduct pretending to bless a tourist lol
exactly how i deal with them. dont make eye contact
pretty obvious scam but some people are too polite to say no. i just walk past and say 'no thanks'
i had one try to give me a bracelet and i was like 'nah mate keep it' and he got so salty lol

ok but some elderly people get pressured easily. needs more awareness
it's sad because there are genuine monks but these guys ruin it for everyone. be careful but don't assume all are fake
yeah nah they won't. they're too busy fining people for parking
anyone know who to report these to? council? police? or just scare them off?
good luck with that. council's too busy with speed bumps
council probably won't do shit. just tell them to get stuffed and move on
ffs why is this news. just ignore them. common sense people
shit take they do it exactly because common sense isn't common
i blame the councils for not doing anything about it but also people need to be smarter
true. but still sucks for those who get tricked
