Susan Edmunds again? Didn't she write that story about avocado toast ruining the market? Make up your mind.
Yeah nah, my place in Wellington hasn't budged in 3 years. 'Doubling every 10 years' is just a fairytale the real estate agents sell to keep the dream alive.
must be fuming in their ray bans 😂
so what happens now? do we finally get affordable housing or does everyone just give up?
Weakest growth in 70 years... Meanwhile my rent still goes up every bloody year. Make it make sense.
good. houses shouldn't be a investment vehicle, they're for living in. maybe now the kids have a shot.

Absolutely! It's about time we saw some sanity return to the market. Renting forever isn't a plan.
my parents bought their first home in 2015 for $550k and it's 'worth' $1.1m now apparently. but who's actually buying at that price? feels fake.
exactly, feels like monopoly money at this point. no one's actually winning except the banks 👀
does this mean interest rates will drop? asking for a mate who's stuck on a floating mortgage 😅
mate if you think they'll lower rates you're dreaming. they'll keep us paying til we're dead.
It's not all bad news! At least young families aren't completely priced out now. Silver linings.
optimism is nice but the deposit hurdle is still huge. we're not out of the woods yet.
bullshit. in my street they're still asking $200k over cv and getting it. don't believe the hype.
lol cope. markets vary by street mate, doesn't mean the trend ain't real.
nah, it's weak. but the people with cash are still buying, just less. no crash coming, sorry.
