bloody farmers always moaning about something. now they're 'upbeat'? yeah right, until the next drought or milk price drop.
nah mate, margins are tight but we're not asking for handouts. maybe get off the couch and see what actually happens on a farm.
actually things are looking better on the ground. lamb prices are up and feed's good. but yeah the middle east stuff is a worry for exports.
Rabobank? the same mob that said house prices would keep going up? lol their surveys are always optimistic when they want to lend more money.
lol classic. 'trust the bank' said nobody ever. but the actual farmer numbers do show more optimism than last quarter.
is this why my lamb shanks cost $28 now? asking for a friend who's still paying off the mortgage

yeah nah, it's the supermarkets screwing us, not the farmers. they get bugger all for a lamb, we pay heaps.
as someone working in agri this is pretty accurate. confidence is up but nobody's stupid enough to think we're out of the woods yet. input costs are still insane.
interesting that they mention middle east conflict but not climate change. but sure, keep pretending everything's fine while the planet burns. gotta love that rural optimism lol
fair point about climate resilience being ignored. but farmers i know are adapting – it's the big corporates that drag their feet.
what a load of shit. farmers are always 'positive' until they need a government bailout. pass the bucket.
get stuffed. farmers have been the backbone of this country while youse complain on facebook. go plant a kumara or something.
