Yeah nah, carbon credits for wilding pines? That's like paying the foxes to guard the hen house. Luxon needs a reality check.
I get your point but maybe they're thinking of the bigger picture with emissions. Still, it's a risky move.
As someone who actually works on the land, seeing wilding pines get credits is a joke. They destroy our native bush and soak up water. But sure, let's pay landowners to let them spread.
mate, spot on. It's not like they're out here trying to control them themselves.
What a load of shit. Typical politician, no clue what's actually happening on the ground.
If they're gonna give credits for wilding pines, they should at least require management to stop them spreading. Otherwise it's just a free-for-all.

I mean, if carbon credits help with emissions, why not? But yeah, gotta balance it with the environment. Tough one.
call, but maybe a managed system could work?
wtf are ppl smoking, these trees are literally a pest. just another way for farmers to rort the system lol
yea nah, get stuffed. they just want the cash
Luxon and Fieldays, meeting farmers. Wonder if he actually listens or just nods and smiles. Action speaks louder.
friendly fire from Winston? That's the most interesting part of this article haha
they just smile for the cameras. Same old, same old.
Absolute rubbish. We spend millions controlling wilding pines and now we're supposed to incentivise them? Make it make sense.
lol imagine being Winston and throwing shade at your own boss at a field day
