$79 million eh? Wonder how much of that will actually reach the floor. Probably gets soaked up by admin and “consultants” before any oldie sees a clean sheet.
what I was thinking. Probably 10% actually hits the floor.
About time. My nan’s been waiting months for a bed. Hopefully this means something real happens and not just another press release.
Facts. My grandad’s place is still short staffed. Money goes nowhere fast.
4% increase when costs are up like 15%? Maths doesn’t math, Simeon. Try again mate.
Lol $79m sounds big but split across the whole sector it’s a drop in the bucket. But hey, better than nothing I guess. Still a joke.

nah get stuffed with the 4%. Try 15% or nothing.
My mum works in a rest home. They are run off their feet. Hope this money actually gets to the carers, not just the shareholders.
100% this. Carers need pay rises not just new pillows.
ffs another bandaid. We need systemic change not a tiny cash injection. But nah, let’s just kick the can down the road again.
Watch this be announced on a Thursday afternoon and forgotten by Friday morning. Classic.
afternoon announcement incoming watch.
honestly who even believes these numbers anymore. They just throw out big figures and hope we don’t notice it’s peanuts per facility.
