obviously not the first time this has happened. immigration nz has been a mess for years, just waiting for the next inquiry to sweep it under the rug.
it's always the same story. nothing ever changes because nobody's held accountable.
heads should roll alright. starting with the minister who thinks a 'review' is a substitute for actually doing their job. sick of this country's soft approach to corruption.
exactly this. they'll throw some low-level staff under the bus and call it a day.
ffs, as if the housing crisis and health system weren't enough, now we gotta worry about immigration staff lying to ministers too? what a joke.
soft on corruption, hard on honest taxpayers. classic nz.

worked with these guys for years. it's not just 'some bad apples' - it's a culture of covering arses and passing the buck. bout time someone actually looked into it.
lol you reckon? they'll all be in golden handshake land in six months.
here we go again. another inquiry, another report, nothing changes. the cycle continues while actual people's lives are messed up by delays and incompetence.
maybe if they actually processed visas on time instead of 'misleading ministers' we'd have less of a labour shortage. just a thought.
so who's gonna be the scapegoat? bet it's some mid-level manager while the top brass get a pay rise. seen it all before.
processing times are a dog's breakfast. my mum's been waiting 14 months for a visitor visa. absolute joke.
my mate applied for a visa last year, still waiting. they told him it was 'under review' for 8 months. yeah nah that's definitely integrity at work.
that's a bloody disgrace mate. but hey, the minister says 'robust processes' are in place so we should all feel assured right?
