ffs, been saying for years this was coming. council dragging its feet as usual.
so they'll buy us out but where are we supposed to go? prices everywhere else are cooked.
same, my heart goes out to them. it's just not fair.
lol the housing market everywhere is cooked so what's new. at least you get a payout, some of us are stuck renting.
wait, so the report says it's possible but it'll take 'decades and lots of money'? what a surprise 😑
honestly i think it's the right call. we can't keep building on a floodplain and expecting it to magically be fine. climate change is real, people.

my neighbour's been there 50 years and now they gotta uproot everything. breaks my heart.
yeah nah get stuffed council, just another way to price out the poor and sell the land to developers
get stuffed mate, the council already owns half the town they'll just pocket the profit
wonder how much they'll lowball the offers. watch them offer market value from before the floods not what it's actually gonna cost to move
exactly lol they'll offer some garbage sum and act generous
so taxpayers foot the bill for decades while the council pats themselves on the back? classic
everyone mad about property prices but nobody wants to talk about managed retreat being the only sensible long-term solution. short term thinking got us here.
oh here comes the 'climate change' moralising while the rest of us lose everything
