ffs every time a workplace safety bill comes up they drag out the Pike River families. Yeah their loss was tragic but using them as political pawns every bloody time is just insulting. Sort the damn bill properly or shut up.
Labour's gonna water it down to appease the big corporates. Watch. Same old song and dance. 😒
my dad worked in a coal mine for 30 years, safety was always an afterthought. This bill needs to actually hold bosses accountable, not just make them fill in more paperwork.
frankly I'm tired of seeing politicians shrug their shoulders every time another worker dies. How many more bodies before they take this seriously?
mate we don't need another royal commission. We need people in prison when they cut corners and workers end up dead. Simple as.
facts. The fines are just cost of doing business for them.

who actually checks these workplaces? like, the inspectors have zero power. might as well be a suggestions box.
literally this. But nah let's have another committee meeting 🥴
It's lunchtime and I'm workin in a dusty warehouse with no ventilation and the bosses are 'looking into it' for the third year. havent forgotten Pike River but nothing ever changes.
nah bro they got a list of recommendations gathering dust. both sides just punt it.
omg they're still using Pike River as an excuse??? that was yonks ago, let it gooo we need economic growth not more regs ⚰️
get stuffed. 'economic growth' over workers' lives? typical boomer nonsense.
