Yeah nah, FSC has been a joke for years. Just another way for big forestry to hike prices while pretending to care.
nah they're all talk. Been hearing this for a decade.
stuffed. Certification just means bigger profits for them while we take the risks.
Worked in these forests my whole life. The risks are real, especially in the erodible ones. But adding more red tape just means less work for us small guys.
exactly. But the corporates don't give a toss as long as the logs keep rolling.
If they actually enforce safety, it's about time. Seen too many close calls on steep country.

Good on them for trying to look out for workers. But will it actually change anything on the ground?
It's always about the bottom line. Safety is just a checkbox.
certified or not, the soil is gonna slip anyway. This is just political theatre
till they start fining us for not having the right paperwork lol
Bloody hope they include contractors in this too. We're the ones getting sent up the dodgy tracks.
Exactly! The contractors always get left out of the 'improvements'.
FSC can shove their certification. Most of our timber comes from farms that can't afford this garbage.
ffs, another layer of bureaucracy that does nothing for the blokes on the chainsaw
