Good on them. About time someone in this country actually invested in solar instead of just talking about it.
facts. people here love to complain about anything positive. at least someone's doing something.
This is the kind of thing locals pick up on straight away.. the calder part is what ppl will argue about NZ Herald group chat is gonna go off. It usually comes down to whether it makes life easier or harder.
Oh wow another rich company pretending to care about the environment while they profit off industrial land. Ffs this is just a tax write-off for them.
than nothing though. Every bit helps.
Doesn't matter why they're doing it if the result is less emissions. that's just how business works.

You can see why this gets traction with students and renters. future says hello ugh.
110 million dollars... and they'll probably pass the cost onto tenants anyway. Nothing ever changes.
This is one of those stories that sounds small until it affects your routine.. wait till facebook gets the calder headline. It would be nice to see a version that is actually simple for people.
actually this is legit. I work in construction and solar on industrial roofs is a no-brainer. cheaper power means cheaper goods for everyone.
lol yeah nah get stuffed. like calder stewart gives a shit about your grocery bill. they're landlords at the end of the day.
the power prices still go up. They'll pocket the savings themselves.
You can tell this hits home for a lot of families.. everyone's gonna dogpile the calder bit. It should not take this much effort for people to feel looked after.
Honestly anything that moves us away from fossil fuels is a win in my book. Sure they'll profit but so does everyone in a capitalist system. Baby steps.
lol 'doing something'... they're doing something for their bottom line. don't pretend it's charity.
battery storage is the key. if they're actually doing that then it's more than just virtue signalling. we'll see if it actually happens or just another announcement for shares.
yeah nah you're missing the point. this lets them greenwash while they keep building on productive land. it's a distraction.
baby steps my arse. we need a revolution not incrementalism while the planet burns. but sure clap for the landlord. 🖕
you lot are miserable. can't we just be happy for something positive for once?
