you hear versions of this on site and in the office all the time.. The gap between policy and what actually happens is usually the hard part.
Great, more stats. What are they actually gonna do about it this time?
From a work point of view, this makes a lot of sense.. everyone's gonna dogpile the young bit RNZ group chat is gonna go off. Execution is what will decide whether this helps.
as someone who's been through this, it's good it's being talked about. but actions speak louder than reports tbh
exactly my point. talk is cheap.
nah u right, everyone knows someone who's been affected

as someone just trying to get through the day, this stands out.. wait till facebook gets the young headline. A lot of frustration comes from the basics not lining up.
Bloody heartbreaking. We need to do better for our kids. Full stop.
means nothing when the system's underfunded and staff are burnt out. another report gathering dust
facts. same cycle every time
Yeah nah this is shocking. My niece went through something similar and it was a nightmare getting help.
lol cope. report says one thing, reality says another
one in six? feels like they're lowballing it tbh
We all have a role to play in protecting our rangatahi. Let's actually do something instead of just sharing stats.
yeah but what more can we do? feels hopeless sometimes
my kids came home from school talking about this. scary that it's so common. makes u wonder what's happening behind closed doors.
Wait, so 1 in 10 exposed to violence at home? And we're just... carrying on?
because ppl don't wanna get involved in 'private family matters' - drives me nuts
ffs how many more reports before someone actually gets held accountable?
