oh great, another cop running for office. cos we don't have enough cops in parliament.
yeah nah, this guy actually seems decent. not like the usual career politicians.
most politicians are lawyers or career politicos. a cop is a breath of fresh air imo
this one will land with plenty of people for obvious reasons. kids notice this stuff
let's go!! finally someone who actually knows what community needs. chur Rakesh
You hear versions of this on site and in the office all the time.. Execution is what will decide whether this helps.

ethnic communities backing him? that's just identity politics. what about the actual policies?
get stuffed mate. hes actually worked with migrants and knows what they go through. thats not identity politics, thats lived experience.
You can tell this hits home for a lot of families. hope everyones ok
I met Rakesh at a community event last year. bloke's genuine. gave us his time without any agenda. we need more like him
I get the angle, but I still want to see the actual numbers behind it.. the ethnic part is what ppl will argue about RNZ group chat is gonna go off. Feels like the context matters more here than people think.
wtf why is a police superintendant running for labour? conflict of interest much?
he's literally on leave while running. read the article ffs
this is what we need - people who've actually served the community. not just some lawyer turned politician
nope, he's taking leave without pay. no conflict. try again
lol at the people saying 'decent cop' - theyre all the same. tough on crime when it suits them, soft when it doesnt.
facts. just because he's ethnic doesn't make him a good candidate. policy over personality
