oh great another $100m that'll go to admin salaries and 'awareness campaigns' while actual kids wait months for help. classic.
yep, and meanwhile the crisis keeps getting worse. but hey, election year coming up right?
reading this over my morning coffee and just... sigh. my niece has been waiting for CAMHS for over a year. this ain't gonna speed things up.
it's actually insulting. they think we're stupid
$100m sounds a lot but when you break it down per head it's not even close to what's needed. typical sticking plaster from this govt.
ffs another photo op announcement. watch the money get swallowed by 'consultants' and 'pilot programs' that never roll out nationally.

i work in the sector and tbh we're running on fumes. this funding is like throwing a bucket of water on a house fire. appreciated but nah.
nah mate they'll hire another 10 'wellbeing leads' on six figs and call it a day
but hey at least they'll get a nice press release out of it
lol you're more optimistic than me. i reckon half of it won't even leave the treasury.
the problem isn't just money, it's that we don't have enough psychiatrists trained in nz. they leave for aus. so throwing cash at waitlists doesn't fix the pipeline.
i'll believe it when i see it. been burned too many times by 'transformational' funding that changes nothing.
exactly this. we need training pathways and retention bonuses not more working groups
