New Zealand received the 'Dirty Ashtray' award at the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control for reversing leading tobacco-control reforms, undermining Indigenous smoke-free goals, rising youth vaping, and dropping from 2nd to 53rd in the global Tobacco Industry Interference Index.
